Okay, this is entirely my fault, I had not checked or been looking for it. I liked baobab very much on dapper. baobab is a GNOME graphical tool performing real-time disk usage analysis, completing information given by df -h in CLI. I had tried to install it on edgy :

~ $ aptitude show baobab
E: /home/isabella/.aptitude/config - Unable to open %s for writing (13 Permission denied)
No candidate version found for baobab
Package: baobab
State: not a real package

No more baobab on edgy :-(
df -h is okay with me, but some people I help on forums prefer graphical tools. In addition, information about disk usage is not displayed in the same way. df shows free available space on mounted file systems as a percentage of total space (see man df) when baobab shows real-time percentage of disk usage by each file system. In adition, baobab can scan remote file systems, on another computer or on a server through ssh, ftp, smb, http or https.

I was reading news, planets and blogs this morning when I came across debian admin entry regarding > Accessories > Disk Usage Analyser. You may have to use > System > Preferences > Menu Layout to add it to the menu. There it was, I recognized baobab interface \o/

Now baobab is part of gnome-utils
